County Sligo easily boasts one of the most appealing stretches of coast on the Wild Atlantic Way. From its delightfully surfable waves crashing on broad golden shores to the rolling green hills and misty mountaintops of the affectionately dubbed ‘Yeats country’, this is a county that attracts a distinct breed of adventure-loving traveller.

But there’s more to County Sligo than meets the eye; dig a little deeper and you’ll find remnants of the rich and ancient history that has shaped the culture here down through the ages, giving rise to the vibrant way of life - with its great food, good-natured locals, incredible arts and literature and dedication to the environment - that you’ll find when you visit.

Day 1: Following your home taxi collection we head across country to The Celtic Royal Hotel in Caernarfon, North Wales for our overnight stop with ample time to settle in before our evening meal.

Day 2: An early start today to board the morning ferry from Holyhead to Dublin. Due to the early departure from the hotel, breakfast is onboard the vessel. Upon arrival in Dublin, we continue through Cavan and Navan into the fabulous Fermanagh Lakelands before arriving in Sligo for a 3 night stay on a dinner, bed & breakfast basics.

Day 3: Day of leisure to enjoy the hotel's facilities.

Day 4: Today we begin with a visit to Lissadell House, an elegant Regency mansion with striking interiors and galleries set in beautiful grounds offering sweeping views of Sligo Bay. We continue our day to Sligo where we spend the afternoon at leisure. Renowned for its history, culture and magical mythology Sligo is the vibrant heart of the north-west. Incredible mountains form a stunning backdrop to the town, including Benbulben which oversees the Atlantics roar and King Mountains.

Day 5: Our day begins as we make our way to Donegal, with ample free time to explore this lovely town. The town is famous for being the former home of the O'Donnell clan, who played a pivotal role in Irish history. You may choose to visit Donegal Castle and the remains of the Franciscan Abbey that dates back to the 15th century. Or why not pop into the department store owned by ‘Magee of Donegal’, manufacturers of the local tweed garments, where you can see the fabrics being woven by hand on small looms. This afternoon we enjoy the highlight of your tour with a trip up to the viewpoint on Slieve League to see the incredible sea cliffs soaring 2000ft above the Atlantic – a truly wild and wonderful sight!.

Day 6: After breakfast, we depart for the picturesque town of Carrick-on-Shannon, before continuing our journey to the capital for an overnight stay.

Day 7: Early departure from our hotel to the port of Dublin, for the crossing to Holyhead. Breakfast is included onboard the vessel this morning. Upon arrival, we continue to Norfolk with suitable stops en route, where our door to door taxi service awaits to return you home.
