Day 1: Following your home taxi collection we join our luxury tour coach and head north to Newcastle and our hotel for the next 4 nights. Tea /coffee will be served on arrival while our cases are delivered to our rooms.
Day 2: Today we enjoy a free day to explore Newcastle from our city centre hotel location. If you’re looking for some retail therapy make sure to visit Fenwick’s where the famous Fenwick festive window display will be on show. Take a moment to visit an award-winning museum, admire the modern architecture of the iconic bridges crossing the River Tyne from the rooftop of Newcastle United Football Club’s St James’ Park stadium tour, the charm of Chinatown and the historic Newcastle Castle – from which the city takes its name – located in the centre of town. Day 3: After a leisurely breakfast we make our way to the Beamish Museum Open Air Museum. Here you can live the story of life in North East England during the 1820s, 1900s, 1940s. & 1950s. Board one of the trams, horse-drawn carts or trains and visit the 1900s traditional sweet shop, explore the 1940s wartime farm, disappear down into the 1900s mine at the pit village or go ‘behind the scenes’ and see some of the fascinating items in the collections of Beamish. At this time of year the museum is festively decorated so we can reimagine what Christmas was like in bygone eras.
Day 4: This morning we drive north to the historic city of Durham. Crowned by its magnificent Norman Castle and Romanesque Cathedral, Durham features a glorious mix of old and new. Its ‘olde worlde’ cobbled streets, mix with real ale taverns and cosy tea rooms, sitting alongside modern shops, museums and visitor attractions. Perhaps visit Crook Hall & Gardens, or maybe enjoy a river cruise to take in the city from a different angle. There is plenty to keep you busy here today. Day 5: We depart for Norfolk, making suitable stops en-route. On arrival our door to door taxi service will be waiting to return you home.
