Day 1: Following your home taxi collection we make our way to Warwickshire, where we have included a visit to Warwick Castle. Bursting with tales of treachery and torture, passion and power you will meet all kinds of colourful characters with stories to tell as you explore the castle. We then make our way to our hotel for a 4 night stay on a dinner, bed & breakfast basis.
Day 2: This morning we head to Broadway, often referred to as the 'Jewel of the Cotswolds'. A famous Cotswold beauty spot, Broadway is nestled at the foot of the rolling Cotswold hills. As its name suggests, Broadway is dominated by a wide tree-lined street packed with independent shops, restaurants, hotels and a couple of excellent museums. The Lygon Arms Hotel was once a manor house and is something of a Cotswold institution – in its time it has hosted both Charles I and Oliver Cromwell - though not at the same time! Don’t miss the Gordon Russell Design Museum, which celebrates the work of the renowned 20th century furniture designer, or the Broadway Museum and Art Gallery where you can gain an insight into the history of the village and its cultural heritage.
We then continue to Moreton-In-Marsh. This thriving market town has a broad High Street which is lined with elegant 17th and 18th Century buildings, among them the White Hart Royal, a former manor house in which King Charles I sheltered during the Civil War and the rare Curfew Tower with its original clock and bell. In the centre is the Redesdale Hall, the town’s main public hall, which regularly holds antiques and craft fairs. Moreton’s High Street is lined with elegant Cotswolds stone buildings which house many specialist shops, antique emporiums, tea rooms and delis. (attractions today are subject to individual choice and payment).
Day 3: Today is a day of leisure in Stratford upon Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare. The town bursts with Shakespearen attractions, from his birthplace to his grave, which can be found in the grounds of Holy Trinity Church. Alternatively, you could enjoy a pleasant stroll along the banks of the River Avon, visit the shops in the town centre or relax in one of the tea rooms and watch the world go by!
Day 4: Today our destination is the historic city of Worcester. The city is built on the banks of the River Severn, with its magnificent 11th century castle at its heart. Proudly independent and tastefully historic, the town has plenty to discover from the beautiful cathedral to the independent boutiques and the charming 'Cardinal's Hat' pub which dates back to the 14th century. This afternoon we make our way to the delightful Gloucestershire town of Tewkesbury, where there’s time to look around the abbey (not included) with its stunning medieval architecture and wander the narrow streets lined with half-timbered houses and Tudor buildings.
Day 5: Sadly this morning we depart our hotel and head back to Norfolk making suitable stops en route. Upon arrival we re-join our door to door taxi service who will be waiting to return you home.
