The UK's 'must see' spectacular live action outdoor theatre show, prepare to be spellbound by Kynren! Proudly presented by Eleven Arches on a seven-and-a-half acre stage, 1,000 cast and crew immerse you in the telling of a 2,000-year tale; the history of England. Kynren brings to ground-shaking life the story of invasions, royal splendour, wars, heroic sacrifice, daily life and seismic change. Take your seat with 8,000 others; enjoy a perfect view and be swept along by a thrilling, family-friendly journey. Two thousand years in the making: dazzling pyrotechnics, beautiful choreography, amazing stunts and hard-to-believe horsemanship combine with an inspired, original soundtrack to leave audiences and critics enraptured and awestruck.

Day 1: From your local joining point we travel to the North East, arriving at the Copthorne Newcastle Hotel for our 3 night stay on a dinner, bed & breakfast. Tea/coffee and biscuits will be served on arrival.

Day 2: Today, we enjoy the day at leisure in Newcastle Upon Tyne. Just a short walk from the hotel are bars, restaurants and the famous Quayside where you could enjoy a river cruise on the tyne (not included). The city centre isn’t far away either, with plenty of shopping and places to visit. Later, we return back to the hotel for an early dinner before heading to Bishop Auckland where we join Kynren – an epic tale of England.

Taking place on a vast landscaped stage with a huge lake at its centre hiding a host of surprises, you’ll meet many of the characters and events that have shaped England.With 29 scenes encompassing the Roman occupation to World War II, history will unfold in front of your eyes, thanks to a cast and crew of almost 1,500 performing on a vast open-air stage. The scale of the show must be seen to be believed. Spectacular sets appearing as if by magic, mass choreography and fierce battles are illuminated with dazzling special effects, effervescent lighting and pyrotechnics, set to a spine-tingling original score which you’ll experience in movie-like surround sound.

Day 3: This morning, we head to the Cathedral city of Durham. Here you can obtain lunch and explore the city, its independent shops or the world-famous Durham Cathedral. Perhaps enjoy a river cruise to see the city from a different perspective, or visit one of various museums a short walk from the city centre. (entry charges up to individual choice and payment)

Day 4: After a leisurely breakfast, we check-out and depart, arriving back in Norfolk and your chosen joining point.

Copthorne Hotel **** Newcastle

The Copthorne Hotel is located right on the quayside, overlooking the River Tyne in the heart of the city. All 156 spacious bedrooms are well-equipped with a satellite TV with on-demand movies, tea/coffee facilities, hair dryer, iron/ironing board and a trouser press. Each room also has a private bathroom and riverside views. The large, modern restaurant overlooks the river and is contemporary in style, whilst the bar has a sports-bar feel with comfortable seating. There is also an outside terrace that makes the most of the riverside location. The hotel also offers an on-site fitness room. The hotel doesn’t have any rooms with walk in showers.
