A new holiday for Eastons, this tour is packed with excursions including  a cruise on the River Wye and a visit to Chavenage House, which features as Trentwith in the popular Poldark TV series.

Day 1: Following your home taxi collection we join our luxury tour coach and make our way to Gloucester and the Gloucester Robinswood Hotel for our 4 night stay. Tea/coffee and biscuits will be served on arrival while your luggage is delivered to your room.

Day 2: This morning after a leisurely breakfast we enjoy a drive through historic Stroud on the way to Royal Tetbury. Tebury is in an area of outstanding natural beauty and the second largest town in the Cotswolds and is the home of King Charles III and Camilla, Queen Consort. Tetbury was an important market for Cotswold wool and yarn during the Middle Ages, but today is better associated with boutique shops, great food, and its Royal Connections. This afternoon we visit Chavenage House, a stunning 16th century, Cotswold stone manor house with many Civil War associations, including the tapestry lined room stayed in by Oliver Cromwell in 1648. The house is currently featured as ‘Trenwith’ – the Poldark family manor from the popular TV series.

Day 3: Our first stop of the day is the charming city of Gloucester, where you will have the opportunity to explore the historic city centre or maybe visit the magnificent Cathedral. Did you know that some of the scenes from the Harry Potter movies were filmed here? (entrance not included). Gloucester has a proud industrial past, intertwined with a rich history that dates back to Roman times. No matter what your interests are, you’ll find that Gloucester is the perfect place to spend a morning.

This afternoon we head for the restored and very impressive Victorian Docks where we find the National Waterways Museum. Housed in the old Llanthony Warehouse in the heart of what once was the bustling Gloucester Docks, the museum will take you on a whole new journey, charting the 200-year history of the docks and the Gloucester & Sharpness Canal. Whilst here we also enjoy a 45-minute boat trip on Queen Boadicea II, a Dunkirk Little Ship. After our cruise why not enjoy a stroll around the Docks or maybe visit the Merchant’s Quay shopping centre.

Day 4: Our visit today takes us along the shore road of the River Severn to the historic town of Chepstow. This medieval town boasts an impressive castle dating from the 11th century which stands on a spectacular spot high on the cliffs above the River Wye and it is considered by some to be the oldest surviving stone castle in Britain. There is also the town gate, the port wall (both late 13th century), the Priory Church of St Mary and the town museum to attract historians and culture buffs. The town also offers a range of coffee shops, pubs and restaurants where you will be able to grab a coffee of bite to eat. (attractions subject to individual choice and payment)

After free time we head north up the beautiful Wye Valley, passing the ruins of Tintern Abbey on the way to the Georgian market town of Monmouth. Monmouth has been a centre for tourism since 1780. Well known for its iconic 13th century gatehouse bridge, Monmouth has a famous past with its connections to Henry V, Geoffrey of Monmouth and (more recently) Queen, Oasis & Simple Minds who all recorded at Rockfield studios. We then return to England for a relaxing cruise along the River Wye from Symonds Yat West, which has long been one of the most spectacular stretches of the Wye Valley.

Day 5: Sadly this morning we depart our hotel and head back to Norfolk, making suitable stops along the way. We later re-join our door to door taxi service, who will return you home.
