We are delighted to be returning to the lovely East Devon resort of Sidmouth and the excellent Bedford Hotel. The timeless holiday resort of Sidmouth offers beautiful gardens, leisurely walks, Regency history and fine hotels, clean beaches and friendly shops all nestling beneath the majestic red cliffs and the green hills of the glorious Sid Valley.
During your stay you may choose to visit the unique little shops in the town or take a stroll along the Esplanade. If you are feeling energetic, take a walk to the top of Salcombe or Peak Hills to get a fantastic view of the bay and the town, or, you could just hire a deckchair and watch the world go by.
Day 1: Following your home taxi collection we make our way to Sidmouth for a 4-night stay at the Bedford Hotel making suitable stops en route.
Day 2: This morning our destination is West Bay with the simmering golden glow of the majestic sandstone cliffs and the shimmering radiance of Golden Cap, West Bay is the Golden gateway to the Jurassic Coast. A must see for fans of the ITV series Broadchurch which was filmed at West Bay. Why not visit the famous cliff and ‘Broadchurch Police Station’ as well as other sites that you may recognise from the hit TV Series. This afternoon we head to Bridport, a market town in Dorset. It is a wonderful place to spend some time with its streets full of galleries, booksellers, cafes, antique shops and boutiques.
Day 3: Today is a day at leisure. The town itself nestles beneath the majestic red cliffs of Peak and Salcombe Hill and the green hills of the glorious Sid Valley, located on the World Heritage Jurassic Coast. Renowned for its gardens and famed for its wealth of fine architecture, the picturesque town centre offers an excellent range of individual shops and is a delight to browse.
Day 4: Today we travel to Exmouth, one of the oldest seaside towns in Devon. As one of the most picturesque coastal towns on the south coast, expect to see beautiful beaches, dramatic cliffs and traditional seaside delights. After some free time we head to Bicton Park Botanical Gardens. Set in Devon's Otter Valley, the Grade I-listed gardens are the product of almost 300 years of horticultural history where the curved design of the 1820s Palm House greenhouse is must-see.
