On this holiday we experience a charming slice of northern Europe, as we take in the festival of Nuts in the vibrant city of Vianden. During your stay there will be time to wander through the town’s narrow streets, which will be full of stalls of nut related produce. We of course also visit Luxembourg City, where you can see the Petrusse Gorge and the Grand Ducal Palace, on our guided tour of Luxembourg’s capital.
Day 1: Following a departure from one of our convenient local joining points, we join our platinum executive tour coach and travel to Kent for our short sea crossing. Upon our arrival we continue our journey through France into Belgium and then into Luxembourg where we reach our hotel for the next 3 nights, The Belle Vue Vianden on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis.
Day 2: This morning we head to the Duchy’s capital of Luxembourg City. Upon arrival we have a full tour of the city on board our coach, before spending the rest of the day free to explore at your own leisure. The city impresses with a true mix of architectural styles. Between the remnants of the past and contemporary architecture, you will explore a town full of contrasts, with the jewel being the Grand-Ducal palace, former residence of the Grand Duke. Many museums, such as the Museum of Art and Natural History are also worth a visit. Despite its strategic and financial power the city has a feeling of tranquillity about it with its vast green spaces and city parks whilst the pedestrianised streets make the historical city centre easy to explore on foot. When you fancy a rest, relax in one of the many bars or cafés.
Day 3: Today is a free day in Vianden to enjoy the Nut festival or Veiner nessmoort. At the Nut Festival you can find everything you can imagine made with walnuts, from liqueurs to bread and even sausages, you could even try a local Luxembourgian food like the delicious Gromperekichelcher, a fried potato pancake. You could maybe try some nessdrepp- a nut liqueur made from young green nuts as small as your fingertips.
Day 4: Sadly this morning we depart our hotel and head back to Calais for our short sea crossing to Kent. Upon our arrival we head back to Norfolk and our local joining points.

The Hotel Belle-Vue is a modern hotel located near the centre of the small, medieval town of Vianden.
