Day 1: Following your home taxi collection, we make our way to the Hotel Rex in Weymouth for our 4 nights stay on a dinner, bed & breakfast basis. This evening we will enjoy a wine reception, followed by a 3-course meal, bingo, & music.
Day 2: Today we venture to the historic market town of Dorchester, lying on the banks of the River Frome it is particularly well known for its associations with Thomas Hardy, the famous novelist and poet. We then head onto Portland Bill to visit the museum and shipwreck centre. Dinosaurs, fossils, shipwrecks and smugglers, stone carving, seafaring, ground-breaking scientists and world-famous authors: Portland Museum packs in an astonishing collection that reflects the history and people of this distinctive island community. Tonight, you will be served Christmas Dinner, followed by entertainment.
Day 3: Day at leisure. Weymouth has just about everything you could ask for in a seaside town: a lovely curving bay with soft sands, a fascinating harbour with interesting old pubs and cottages, the remains of a Tudor castle, some engaging architecture & a wide variety of shops to explore.
Day 4: Our first visit today is to Maritime Poole, a delightful town with its historic quayside, shops and famous pottery. Explore the historic quayside, host to visiting tall ships, fishing vessels and luxury motor yachts, before delving into the heart of the Old Town to discover more about this town’s links to its maritime past. In the afternoon we head towards the famous Jurassic Coast and take time to visit Lulworth Cove, where there is the opportunity to walk down to the sea to admire the views. We are treated tonight to a Hogmanay dinner, followed by entertainment. There will even be a glass of bubbles to see in the ‘New Year’.
Day 5: After a leisurely breakfast we return to Norfolk making suitable stops en route. Upon arrival, our door to door service will be waiting to return you home.
