Friday 29th November - Monday 2nd December 2024
The Southampton Christmas Festival takes place in the city centre and consists of alpine themed chalets with traditional fayre and a range of authentic gifts. Festive musical entertainment is featured and the highlight is the unique ‘Flying Santa’ show, which sees Santa and his reindeers fly above the market twice during the day.
The setting for the Victorian Festival of Christmas is the atmospheric Historic Dockyard in Portsmouth, home of Nelson’s Flagship Victory and Henry VIII’s warship Mary Rose. There are over 100 exhibitors offering a range of festive gifts, craft items, food and drink. Lots of street entertainment is featured as well as the indoor Christmas craft village and French Market.
Day 1: Following a pick up from your chosen local joining point, we meet our luxury tour coach and head South to Portsmouth, arriving late afternoon at the Langstone Quays Hotel for 3 nights, dinner, bed and breakfast.
Day 2: This morning we make our way into Southampton for the Christmas Festival. Visitors can expect to see a traditional horse carousel, bars offering festive Glühwein, tasty hot chocolates and hot mulled cider. Traders will be selling mouth-watering treats such as crêpes, German sausages, cheeses and other Christmassy nibbles as well as gifts and goodies galore from the traditional chalets.
Day 3: Leaving the hotel, we drive the short distance into Portsmouth to the Historic Dockyard for the Victorian Christmas Festival. We spend the day here giving you the opportunity to enjoy the Christmas festivities and market, as well as visiting the historic ships. With over 100 stalls selling fine hand-crafted gifts and curiosities, you’ll find the perfect present for loved ones, and with festive spirits running high, why not take part in a sing-a-long with traditional Victorian street performers and musicians.
Day 4: After breakfast we depart our hotel and begin our journey home making suitable stops en-route. Upon arrival back in Norfolk we will drop you at your chosen local joining point.
