The delightful county of Kent is blessed with charming English countryside and is well situated for our tour.

Highlights of this tour include the impressive Leeds Castle, as well as entry into the Historic Chatham Dockyard - in its heyday, it was one of the largest ship building docks in the British Empire.

More recently it is famous for being the filming location for the BBC hit series, Call the Midwife. We including access to the brand new Call the Midwife Official Location Tour and exclusive gallery, which was opened on the 28th April 2023. Featuring new stories, sets, costumes, props, unique artefacts and a brand new gallery to house them. Visit Fred Buckle’s shop to view the vintage sweets and treats and snap a perfect selfie over the counter in Violet’s Haberdashery. Take a seat in Dr. Turner’s waiting area and brush past beautiful costumes, as you get up close to popular props, including treasured wedding dresses and uniforms.

After our tour, you are then free to explore the dockyard. Draped in 400 years of history, there are three warships; a Victorian Sloop, WW2 Destroyer and a cold war Submarine. Make sure you visit the Victorian Ropery, Commissioners House and the RNLI historic collection.

Day 1: Following your home taxi collection we join our luxury tour coach and make our way to Chatham in Kent and our hotel for the next four nights, the 4 star Holiday Inn on a dinner bed and breakfast basis.

Day 2: After a leisurely breakfast we journey the short distance to Chatham and the famous Historic Naval Dockyard. This is the filming location for the popular series, Call the Midwife and a must visit for fans of the show. Led by the historic dockyard's very own ‘midwife’, you will visit areas which have been used as locations for many of the scenes for the popular Drama. We also include access to the brand new Call the Midwife Official Location Tour and exclusive gallery, which was opened on the 28th April 2023.

Day 3: Today we commence with a journey east along the North Kent coastline towards Whitstable, famous the world over for its oysters. After a brief stop for coffee, we then head along the coast to Margate – a timeless seaside town on the Kent coast combining old world charm with modern culture. We then travel to Sandwich, one of the original Cinque Ports and home of the Sandwich Secret Gardens.

Day 4: This morning we visit Leeds Castle, Visitors never forget their first breath-taking vision of Leeds Castle in Kent, rising majestically from the moat. With its riveting history serving six of England’s medieval queens, to its elaborate transformation into an elegant 20th-century retreat by Anglo-American heiress, Lady Baillie, Leeds Castle’s rich heritage has secured its place as one of the most visited historic attractions in Britain. There’s plenty for all to enjoy, from exploring the Princess Alexandra Gardens and the elaborate castle, to watching in awe as the Birds of Prey fly overhead in the daily display.

Later we visit the town of Rochester, a place once cherished by the Victorian novelist Charles Dickens, who lived in the area as a child and returned as a successful author.  With the town’s history dating back centuries, there is so much to see and do in the historic city itself.  You may wish to explore Rochester Cathedral, founded in 604 and the second oldest in England. You could enjoy the breathtaking views from the top of one of the tallest keeps in the country at the magnificent Rochester Castle. Built on the highest part of Rochester’s Roman city wall, to defend the crossing of the River Medway. (attractions subject to individual choice and payment).

Day 5: Sadly this morning we make our way home, stopping for some time at leisure in Lavenham. With its Tudor houses, crooked, half-timbered cottages and 15th Century Wool church, it’s easy to understand why the streets of Lavenham have been used as background for TV and films including Lovejoy and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Known as England’s best preserved medieval village and one of Suffolk’s important wool towns, you can spend hours exploring Lavenham, one of the most picturesque villages in England. On our return to Norfolk our door to door taxi service will be waiting to take you home.
