Day 1: Following your home taxi pickup we travel north to our hotel in Scarborough for our 5-night stay at the Park Manor Hotel on a dinner, bed & breakfast basis.
Day 2: This morning we visit the resort of Filey. This traditional seaside resort, with its sandy beach, historic promenade, fantastic fish and chips, and gentle pace of life, is the perfect place to visit for a relaxing morning. Later we make the short journey to Sewerby Hall. Uniquely situated in a dramatic clifftop position with spectacular views over Bridlington and set in 50 acres of early 19th Century parkland, Sewerby Hall and Gardens offers something for everyone from the magnificent award winning gardens to the deep rooted heritage of the house. Take a trip back to the 1900s to see how Sewerby Hall would have looked. The house has been transformed using furniture from the Victoria and Albert Museum and other nationally important collections.
Day 3: Our excursion takes us over the moors to Whitby. This charming little fishing town has a fascinating past where you can admire the ruins of St Hilda's Abbey and uncover the stories of the famous Captain Cook and Dracula. After lunch, we then return over the moors to Goathland. This bracing moorland village has attracted visitors since the 19th century, but numbers soared following its appearance (as 'Aidensfield') in the television series 'Heartbeat' and its role in the 'Harry Potter' films
Day 4: Today we head to Thirsk; a small market town and home to author James Herriot. Whilst here we have included entrance to the world of James Herriot. The visit will take you on a nostalgic journey through the former home and veterinary surgery where the world’s most famous vet lived, practised and wrote his bestselling books ‘All Creatures Great and Small’ that went on to become a hit TV Series. There will be free time to visit the town before we head back to our hotel with a stop in the market town of Pickering.
Day 5: Today we head to historic York where we have a guided panoramic coach tour of the city. After our tour, there will be plenty of free time to visit the many attractions that York has to offer. Founded by the Romans and featuring the magnificent 13th century York Minster at its centrepiece, the city features some breath-taking architecture, make sure you bring a camera! With quaint cobbled streets and welcoming taverns alongside its vibrant café scene, York offers the perfect contrast of old and new.
Day 6: After breakfast, we make our way to Beverley, with landmarks that include the gothic Beverley Minster and the 15th-century North Bar before returning to Norfolk, where our door to door taxi service awaits to return you home.
