Torquay is one of Britain’s most famous resorts. Situated at the heart of 22 miles of unspoilt coastline, it is often referred to as the “English Riviera”. It has a mild climate, sparkling blue waters and in its beautiful public gardens, you will see subtropical plants and palm trees. Torquay has something to offer everyone, which is why is it popular among a variety of holidaymakers who enjoy coach holidays to Torquay.

Day 1: You will be picked up from home by our door-to-door service and taken to the coach for the journey southwest to Devon, arriving at our hotel late afternoon for 7 nights dinner, bed & breakfast.

Day 2: Today we have a day at leisure to use the facilities that the hotel has to offer or spend time looking around Torquay. Be sure to stroll around its bustling picturesque harbour, or why not take a boat trip to enjoy the view from a different perspective (not included). Torquay’s many landscaped gardens and scenic walks are the perfect way to spend your time here.

Day 3: We make our way across the South Hams to the historic maritime town of Dartmouth. This delightful town has narrow streets, overhanging medieval houses and old quays, as well as breath-taking views across the Dart Estuary.  On our return to Torquay, we will make a brief stop in the ancient town of Totnes. A quaint, historic little market town, this area truly is a sight to behold. You can find everything here, from stunning countryside, to fascinating historical buildings and amazing views.

Day 4: Today we enjoy an excursion to Canonteign Falls, home to England’s highest manmade waterfalls, a magical natural paradise found in the heart of the beautiful Teign Valley. Set in over 90 acres of ancient woodland, we enjoy nature with woodland trails, zig-zagging streams, bridges, stunning waterfalls and lily lakes. We continue to Newton Abbott, an historic market town which is surrounded by beautiful South Devon countryside. Some of the town’s history can be seen with a visit to St Leonard’s Tower, the remains of an ancient church demolished in 1836, which sits in the centre of the town. The history of the town can be explored further with a visit to the GWR Museum. (attractions subject to individual choice and payment)

Day 5: This morning we travel into the Teign Valley to Dawlish. This delightful town is centred around The Lawn and Brook, which is home to the famous black swans. After some time here to explore we make the short journey to the resort of Teignmouth, a stunning coastal town with historical Georgian buildings and long sandy beaches. We cross the River Teign at Shaldon to follow the coastline to the Bygones Museum at Babbacombe. Here, we step back in time to a full sized, Victorian street, complete with authentic sights, smells and sound effects from the era. (Based in an old quirky building, Bygones is set over three floors., there are no lifts and a few steps to negotiate between floors)

Day 6: After breakfast, we travel to historic Brixham. Life here has always centred around the harbour, where heritage trawlers jostle for space with day boats heading out to sea for the day’s catch, bringing it home daily to Brixham’s famous Fish Market. Here you can wander the maze of narrow streets or visit one of the many cafes around the harbour and watch the world go by

We then make the short journey to Paignton, a colourful, traditional seaside resort popular for its mild climate and lively seafront. The bustling pier, genteel buildings and streets and sense of class and style have made this an English Riviera favourite for generations of visitors.

Day 7: Day at leisure to explore and relax. With its iconic palm trees, busy harbour, international marina, sandy beach and wonderful array of continental style cafes, restaurants and cocktail bars there is plenty to see and do.

Day 8: After breakfast, we depart Torquay for our return journey back to Norfolk making suitable stops en route. Upon arrival our door to door service will be waiting to take you home.
