Day 1: Following your home taxi collection, we make our way to Somerset, and the cathedral city of Wells, for our 4 night stay on a dinner, bed & breakfast basis at the Swan Hotel.
Day 2: This morning we head to Longleat House & Safari Park, where upon arrival, we take a drive through the Safari Park (please note, the coach will not travel through the monkey section of the safari tour). You will see Lions, tigers, cheetahs and rhino’s to name just a few!. There is also plenty to explore on foot, from the southern koala’s, to the Cuban crocodiles, and don’t forget the majestic giraffes.
In 1949, Longleat House became one of the first privately owned stately homes to open to the public commercially. But its history extends much further back. Built between 1567 and 1580, it has been lived in by sixteen generations of the Thynn family. Today it is the family home of the 8th Marquess and Marchioness of Bath.
The stunning stately home is a sight to behold, and here, you will discover the original Elizabethan Great Hall, spectacular 19th century interiors and magnificent State Rooms
Day 3: Today we journey to the Somerset Coast to visit Weston-Super-Mare which is steeped with Victorian history and dominated by a two mile stretch of glorious beach. The level seafront is a delightful stroll and here you will find a magnificent grand pier and plenty of seaside attractions. Nature lovers will be left in awe by the beautiful greenery of the town’s parks and gardens, and if you’re searching for culture and history, there are many museums and galleries to explore, with Weston Museum being a highlight.
This afternoon, we head to Oakham Treasures, one of the largest privately owned museums of retail and farming history in the UK. Opened to the public for the very first time since July 2008, it has already become an award-winning major attraction, and guarantees to give you an amazing and uplifting trip down memory lane. Whether you are 8 or 80, you'll be fascinated by this vast and unique collection of memorabilia from the last century. There really is something for everybody, from the thousands of items in the historic stores, to the impressive display of vintage tractors and farm equipment.
Day 4: A free day at leisure to explore our base of Wells. Perhaps visit the historic cathedral opposite our hotel famous for being one of the first Gothic-styled cathedrals in Britain and home to a large collection of stained glass. Take a stroll down Vicars Close -believed to be the only complete Medieval Street left intact in England. There is also the Bishop Palace and Gardens home, to the bishops of Bath and Wells for over 800 years.
Day 5: This morning we depart our hotel and make our way back to Norfolk, making suitable stops en route. Upon arrival, our door to door taxi service will be waiting to take you home.
