Day 1: Joining the coach from a convenient local joining point, we head to Stratford Upon Avon for a visit enroute to our hotel. As the birthplace of William Shakespeare, the town bursts with Shakespearen attractions, from his birthplace to his grave, which can be found in the grounds of Holy Trinity Church. Alternatively, you could enjoy a pleasant stroll along the banks of the River Avon, visit the shops in the town centre or relax in one of the tea rooms and watch the world go by! We will later continue to the Smiths Hotel in Weston Super Mare for our 4 night stay on a dinner, bed & breakfast basis.
Day 2: We spend the day in Bath. It is the only city in the UK to be named a World Heritage Site. Renowned for its stunning architecture, this wonderful city has something to see at every turn. Marvel at the stunning Bath Abbey, the last of the great medieval churches of England, with unrivalled views of the city, or be intrigued by the Circus, a masterpiece by John Wood, forming the shape of a key when viewed from the air. The Pump Room is well worth a visit, and there are several museums, including the world’s largest costume museum. Whilst here we have also included a guided tour around the city onboard the coach.
Day 3: This morning we pay a visit to Glastonbury, the birthplace of English Christianity and the supposed burial place of King Arthur. We then head to medieval Wells with the opportunity to obtain lunch. England’s smallest city, Wells, sits peacefully surrounded by thousands of years of history and legend. The magnificent Wells Cathedral is the focal point, along with the unique moated Bishop’s Palace, from which the finely preserved medieval centre wanders away into attractive lanes with many wonderful independent shops.
