Day 1: Following your home taxi collection, you will join our luxury tour coach and we will head north to Manchester. We head direct to Manchester Airport where we a supersonic visit to Concorde at the Runway Visitor Park, Manchester Airport. Here, we enjoy a unique experience on a 90 minute fully guided tour of one of the most iconic aircraft in history, with time under the wings, time on-board, including the flight deck, and a personalised commemorative certificate. The Runway Visitor Park is also home to a number of other retired planes, which offer a glimpse of what flying was like in the 1960’s and 1970’s. (Please be aware that there are 20-25 steps to board Concorde). After our visit we head to our hotel for the next 4 nights the 4star Copthorne Hotel Manchester Salford Quays on a dinner bed & breakfast basis. (Our Concorde visit has been changed to day 1 due to operational reasons at Manchester Airport)

Day 2: Today we have a full day to explore Salford Quays Starting with a 50-minute boat cruise around the Quays & Manchester ship canal. This will give you a unique view of this amazing city, and along with commentary to give you an insight into some of the history. The rest of the day is then yours to explore at your leisure.

Salford Quays is a wonderfully revitalised area of Manchester and a unique waterfront destination, which is home to the Imperial War Museum North (free admission) and The Lowry, a shrine to all things art (also free admission), as well as Quayside MediaCityUK, Manchester’s only designer outlet shopping mall; the BBC and MediaCity, where tours can be enjoyed. (price not included).

Day 3: This morning we head to RHS Bridgewater, a fabulous addition to the Royal Horticultural Society’s estate, rising from the former grounds of Worsley New Hall. Opened on the 18th May 2021, RHS Garden Bridgewater is the fifth RHS garden and one of the largest and most spectacular gardening projects undertaken in Europe in recent years.

This afternoon we head to the picture postcard village of Worsley. Worsley was, originally, the largest manor of the seven ancient manors of the Bridgewater Estates and was created by William I. Worsley hides a fascinating heritage too though, through its past life as the hub of the transport revolution! Whilst here, you may wish to visit one of the village pubs, or why not take the self-guided 1 mile circular walk and learn about the clock that strikes 13, underground canals and steam boats.

Day 4: Today we make the short journey into the historic city of Chester where the day is then free for you to explore. When visiting this majestic city, take a step back in time and walk down the cobbled streets to discover the famous black and white ‘rows’ in the city centre. The half-timbered buildings now house some of Chester’s most beautiful stores, boutiques and restaurants. In this majestic city, you will find one of the largest Roman amphitheatres in Britain; with ongoing excavations just outside the old city’s walls. Take time to discover Chester’s Roman heritage and walk the two-mile ring of Roman walls made from local red sandstone. Only a short walk away, is the picturesque River Dee, with a charming riverbank known as the ‘Groves’ which is complete with a promenade, bandstand, boat rides and ice cream! (Day 4 has been ammended due to Concorde day change)
