Day 1: Following a departure from one of our convenient local joining points, you will join our platinum executive tour coach and travel to Kent for our crossing to France. Upon our arrival, we continue our journey through the French countryside to our hotel for the next 3 nights, the four star Mercure Metz Centre Hotel. This evening we enjoy an included evening meal at the hotel. The rest of your stay will be on a bed & breakfast basis.
Day 2: Today you are free to explore Metz and its Christmas Markets at your own pace. Metz is a lovely French city, set at the joining of the Seille and Moselle rivers. Around Christmas time, this pretty landscape is highlighted by charming festive decorations, and a superb Christmas market comes to town. With its bright lights, festive atmosphere and the delicious scent of freshly cooked delicacies, you will be able to explore these amazing markets, with both French and German influences, and pick up some souvenirs or treat loved ones at home to unique gifts. Make sure you take the time to enjoy the Christmas lights, for which Metz is famous.
Day 3: This morning we head to Luxembourg. Each year, Luxembourg is transformed into a winter wonderland, with pretty lights and decorations. Its Christmas markets have something for everyone, with stalls selling favourites from around Europe, including everything from Stollen to chocolate yule logs to cheeses, as well as handcrafted trinkets and decorations. Sample some of the delicacies available at the markets, including traditional Gluhwein (mulled wine), crepes, Mettwurscht and Thuringer sausages, and delicious Gromperekichelcher (potato fritters).
Day 4: Sadly this morning we depart the hotel and retrace our journey to Calais, for our crossing to Kent. On arrival, we continue to Norfolk and your chosen joining point.
