A returning favourite for Eastons customers as we explore Cheshire and the surrounding areas. On this tour we visit Liverpool and Llangollen, as well as enjoying a fabulous journey onboard the Llangollen Steam Railway.

Chester sparkles with a magical heritage and is the perfect place for a revitalising break at any time. The city is awash with history with many of its buildings carefully restored to retain their historical heritage. The city boasts a complete circuit of walls, sections of which date back to Roman times, as well as a Norman Cathedral. The famous Rows, unique two-tiered galleries built in the traditional black and white 'magpie' style are a must see.

Day 1:  Following your home taxi collection we head to Cheshire arriving late afternoon at the Beaufort Park Hotel for our 4 nights stay on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis. Tea/coffee and Bara Brith (Welsh speckled bread) will be served on arrival whilst our luggage is taken to our rooms

Day 2: This morning we take a drive through the pleasant Cheshire countryside to visit Chester for the day. When visiting this majestic city, take a step back in time and walk down the cobbled streets to discover the famous black and white ‘rows’ in the city centre. The half-timbered buildings now house some of Chester’s most beautiful stores, boutiques and restaurants. You will also find one of the largest Roman amphitheatres in Britain; with ongoing excavations just outside the old city’s walls. Take time to discover Chester’s Roman heritage and walk the two-mile ring of Roman walls made from local red sandstone. Only a short walk away, is the picturesque River Dee, with a charming riverbank known as the ‘Groves’ which is complete with a promenade, bandstand, boat rides and ice cream!

Day 3: Leaving after breakfast, we travel around the Wirral coast via Hoylake, with its famous golf courses, and through the tunnel into Liverpool. We spend the morning here with time to explore this fascinating city. Maybe visit the Albert Dock complex with its many attractions, including the Beatles Story. See the magnificent cathedrals or just wander around the city.

We also include a boat trip on the River Mersey. You will find out lots of interesting facts about city's rich musical heritage, learn how the ferries played their part in the First World War and hear more about Liverpool’s maritime history from the expert recorded commentary, which plays throughout the cruise. All you need to do is sit back, relax and take in the views. You'll be captivated as the rich and fascinating history of our world-famous waterfront unfolds before you.

This afternoon we travel through the Mersey Tunnel to Port Sunlight, where we visit Sunlight Vision. Enjoy a guided tour of Port Sunlight Village, built by William Hesketh Lever for his factory workers and named after his famous Sunlight soap. Discover how the village was planned with the happiness of his workers uppermost and visit the gift shop. This is a superb example of how life used to be.

Day 4: Today we head out through some lovely Welsh scenery, including the spectacular Horseshoe Pass, to the Dee Valley where we join the Rheilfford Llangollen Railway for a journey on a nostalgic train. The railway is located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and this is evident as the train gently meanders through the Dee Valley. The views from the carriages are breathtaking and constantly changing from season to season.

We also enjoy join a canal cruise on a brightly coloured narrowboat. Here, you will sail across the Pontcysllte Aqueduct, or 'Stream in the Sky', through the beautiful Vale of Llangollen. An interesting commentary gives visitors an insight into the history of the area whilst gliding gently along, over the country’s biggest navigable viaduct.

Day 5: Sadly this morning we depart our hotel and head back to Norfolk making suitable stops en route. Upon arrival, we re-join our door to door taxi service who will return you safely to your homes.
