Join us for a long weekend as we visit York for a unique Yuletide experience. With its narrow cobbled streets, medieval buildings, historic Shambles and magnificent Minster, you will enjoy a magical festive atmosphere in one of Europe’s most charismatic cities.
A highlight of the tour for many with be to experience the magic of Christmas at Castle Howard. This enchanting home with its lavishly decorated rooms and stunning architecture, will be adorned with elegant decorations, whilst magnificent Christmas trees, decked with hundreds of baubles and lights, lead the way through the dramatic interiors,
Day 1: From your local joining point we head north to Yorkshire, arriving late afternoon at the Best Western Burn Hall Hotel.
Day 2: This morning we make our way to Thornton le Dale for some free time in this picturesque village, before making our way to Castle Howard. Enjoy a truly magical day out as Castle Howard is transformed for the festive season. Experience the magnificent decorations as you journey through the House’s grand state rooms. Open fires, candle light and live music evoke all that we love about this special time of year, with the iconic 25 foot Christmas tree adorned with over 3000 baubles providing a breath-taking highlight in the Great Hall.
Day 3: After breakfast we make the short journey into York. The St Nicholas Fair has been a staple of York’s Christmas offering since 1992. The famous alpine chalets line Parliament Street and St Sampson’s Square creating a festive wonderland, with an array of local traders and artisan products. In 2018, York’s Christmas Market was voted the Best in the UK by the National Association of British Market Authorities and was proudly named The UK’s Most Festive City.
Day 4: Sadly this morning we depart our hotel and we head to historic Lincoln for free time before returning to Norfolk. On our arrival you will be dropped at your chosen joining point.
