Come along with us to discover the beautiful fishing port of Looe, a fantastic year-round holiday destination. This lovely Cornish town and excellent holiday destination is bursting with coastal charm and is popular for its reputable seafood scene, spectacular walks and beautiful beaches, Looe is one of Cornwall's south coast gems that is just waiting to be explored.

The county of Cornwall is famous for its seafaring history, spectacular beaches, dramatic coastlines, and captivating fishing harbours. Our base for this relaxing holiday is the popular seaside town of Looe, divided into East and West by a seven arched bridge that spans a tidal river. Here you can explore the maze-like streets with their interesting mix of traditional craft shops, bars and restaurants with many buildings dating from the 16th and 17th centuries. We also visit some of Cornwalls best gems with visits to the smugglers haunts of Mevagissey, Bodmin & Tintagel.

New for 2026, we include entry into Bodmin Jail.  There are plenty of dark secrets, mysteries and haunting tales locked away within Bodmin Jail’s formidable walls.  Clutching onto the fringes of Bodmin Moor, this former prison was one of the first in the UK with individual cells, and we have the chance to find out more about its grimy history. We also discover more about the punishments and type of inmates, including smugglers, highwaymen, wreckers and more. If you are brave enough you   can even visit the condemned cell and the original hanging pit.

Day 1: Following your home taxi collection we make our way to Looe, making suitable stops en-route as we head to the Portbyhan hotel, our home for the next 5 nights on a dinner bed and breakfast basis. Tea and coffee will be served upon arrival while your luggage is taken to your room.

Day 2:  Our first stop today is the Cornwall Regiment Museum near Bodmin. The collection and displays cover 300 years of history, telling the story of the Duke of Cornwall’s Infantry volunteer militia and the light infantry. Following our visit we have free time in Bodmin. This afternoon we visit Bodmin Jail.

Day 3: Today is a day of leisure to explore. The harbour, steeped in history of smuggling and piracy is a must visit, here you can watch the boats come and go throughout the day.  Looe also has a charming maze of narrow streets and antique shops, traditional pubs and fish market, as well as the 16th century Guildhall which is now a museum.

Day 4: This morning we head to St Mawes. Situated on the Roseland peninsular, the resort has a picturesque harbour with whitewashed houses and is guarded by Henry VIII’s clover leaf shaped St Mawes Castle. Later, we head to Trelissick Garden. Situated on its own peninsular, commanding magnificent views over the Fal estuary, Trelissick has one of the best natural settings of any estate in the country. There are 30 acres of garden to explore, with twisting paths leading you through important collections of Hydrangeas, Rhododendrons and Ginger lilies, together with woodland plants and herbaceous borders that provide year round colour and interest.

Day 5: Today we travel to Fowey, a picturesque town that has much to offer and is designated an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Its natural harbour is the perfect haven for yachtsmen while still busy as a working port exporting Cornwall's china clay. The home of Daphne du Maurier can be seen, and the town also boasts an excellent selection of quality shops, art galleries, cafes and restaurants for those looking for a Cornish cream tea or tasty fish & chips. Later we continue to Mevagissey. Narrow streets and steep valley sides lead down to the centre of the old Mevagissey where the distinctive twin harbour provides a haven for the many fishing boats that land their daily catch. In typical picture postcard style, cafes and shops cluster around the harbour walls.

Day 6: Sadly, we bid farewell to our hotel and head back towards Norfolk making suitable stops on the way. Upon arrival our door to door service will be waiting to take you home.
