Experience the captivating charm of Devon and Cornwall on this five-day escape, combining historic landmarks, picturesque villages, and stunning coastal scenery. From the elegance of Pencarrow House and Gardens to the vibrant harbours of Looe and Port Isaac, and the dramatic cliffs of Tintagel, this tour offers a perfect blend of history, culture, and natural beauty.

Enjoy leisurely days exploring Plymouth’s maritime heritage, wandering peaceful gardens, and discovering fascinating local stories—from smuggling legends at Jamaica Inn to Arthurian myths at Tintagel. With comfortable accommodation at the Duke of Cornwall Hotel, delightful coastal drives, and a mix of scenic excursions and free time, this holiday promises a memorable journey through some of England’s most scenic and historic landscapes.

Day 1: Your holiday begins with a convenient home pick-up via our door-to-door taxi service. Board our luxury tour coach as we head southwest to Devon, arriving at the Duke of Cornwall Hotel, your home for the next four nights on a dinner, bed & breakfast basis. On arrival, settle in and relax while your luggage is delivered to your room.

Day 2: After breakfast, we travel to Pencarrow House and Gardens, a magnificent Georgian mansion that has been home to the Molesworth family since the 1500s. On a guided tour of the house, you’ll discover its elegant rooms, antique furnishings, and fascinating stories of generations who have lived here. After the tour, take time to explore the gardens at your leisure. Meander along peaceful pathways, admire seasonal blooms, tranquil ponds, and ornate garden features, or simply relax in the serene surroundings.

Later this afternoon, we continue to Looe, a charming seaside town nestled between rugged cliffs and sandy beaches. A working fishing port with a vibrant harbour, Looe offers something for everyone—wander along the quay, watch the fishing boats return, browse unique local shops, or enjoy a coffee at a waterside café while taking in the coastal atmosphere.

Day 3: Today is at leisure to explore Plymouth, a city rich in maritime history. Stroll along The Hoe, a vast promenade overlooking Plymouth Sound, and enjoy panoramic views of the coastline and historic naval landmarks. Wander through the Barbican, with its cobbled streets, independent boutiques, galleries, and cafés, and visit the Mayflower Steps, the historic departure point of the Pilgrims in 1620. For those seeking culture, The Box offers a fascinating insight into Plymouth’s art, archaeology, and natural history, with ever-changing exhibitions and free entry. Alternatively, enjoy some time shopping or simply soaking up the city’s unique charm. (attractions subject to individual choice and payment)

Day 4: Our final excursion takes us into the wild beauty of Bodmin Moor, an area of rugged landscapes and dramatic scenery. We stop at the legendary Jamaica Inn, forever linked to Daphne du Maurier’s novel, where you can explore the Smugglers’ Museum and view artefacts that reveal Cornwall’s fascinating smuggling past.

We then continue to the spectacular North Cornwall coast, visiting Tintagel, famed for its dramatic cliffside castle ruins steeped in Arthurian legend. Our final stop is the picturesque harbour village of Port Isaac, instantly recognisable as the setting for the TV series Doc Martin. Take time to stroll the charming streets, enjoy the coastal scenery, and perhaps relax at a café or pub before returning to our hotel.

Day 5: Sadly, our wonderful adventure comes to an end this morning as we bid farewell to our hotel and begin the journey back to Norfolk, making comfort stops along the way. Upon arrival, we are met by our door-to-door taxi service, ensuring a smooth and safe return to your home — taking with you fond memories of your time exploring Cornwall’s coast and countryside.
