Day 1: Following your home taxi collection, we travel to Newquay for our four-night stay at The Esplanade Hotel on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis. On arrival, you will be treated to a traditional Cornish cream tea while your cases are taken to your rooms.
Day 2: Today we enjoy a full-day tour of West Cornwall. Our first stop is the popular harbour town of Penzance. Nestled in a corner of glorious Mount’s Bay, this hidden gem offers all the salt-flecked history you would expect — pirate cobbled alleyways, bobbing boats, and dockside taverns — alongside a vibrant local scene. Explore the winding streets, subtropical gardens, and promenade with dazzling views across the bay.
We then make a brief stop at Land’s End before continuing to St Ives. It is no wonder this beautiful town has attracted artists for decades, drawn by its undeniable natural beauty. From J.M.W. Turner to sculptor Henry Moore, St Ives has long been a magnet for some of the world’s greatest painters, sculptors, and ceramicists. Enjoy the pavement cafés, ancient pubs, and top-notch eateries serving delicious local produce.
(A packed lunch is supplied today.)
Day 3: A leisurely excursion today takes us first to the historic city of Truro, Cornwall’s county town, dominated by its stunning cathedral. Truro is a delight to explore, with its maze of cobbled alleyways and beautiful Georgian architecture.
We then continue along Cornwall’s lovely south coast to the charming fishing village of Mevagissey, celebrated for its quaint streets, traditional slate and cob cottages, and photogenic harbour. Its narrow streets and steep valley sides lead down to the old village centre, where the distinctive twin harbour provides a safe haven for fishing boats bringing in their daily catch of skate, lobster, plaice, and sole. In classic picture-postcard style, pubs, cafés, galleries, and shops cluster around the harbour walls and line the pretty streets. Named after two Irish saints, St Meva and St Issey, the village dates back to at least 1313 and prospered during the 1800s thanks to the pilchard trade. You will also find plenty of seafood restaurants for which the village is renowned.
(A packed lunch is supplied today.)
Day 4: Today is yours to relax with a free day in Newquay. One of the nation’s favourite seaside resorts, Newquay is an idyllic destination for a coastal retreat.
Relax in one of the delightful beachside eateries or take in the surf and spray of Fistral Beach — known as a surfer’s paradise and the perfect place to watch the world go by.
For those wishing to explore further, browse the charming independent shops or take a stroll along the coastal path for spectacular views out to sea.
(A hot buffet lunch is included today.)
Day 5: After a leisurely breakfast, we begin our journey back to Norfolk, making suitable stops along the way. On arrival, our taxi service will be waiting to take you home.
