Day 1: Joining the coach from a convenient local departure point, we travel to Stratford-upon-Avon for a visit en route to our hotel. As the birthplace of William Shakespeare, the town is filled with Shakespearean attractions, from his birthplace to his grave at Holy Trinity Church. Alternatively, you may prefer a leisurely stroll along the banks of the River Avon, take time to browse the shops, or relax in one of the many tea rooms.
Later, we continue to the Smiths Hotel in Weston-super-Mare for our four-night stay on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis.
Day 2: Today we spend the day in the beautiful city of Bath, the only city in the UK designated as a World Heritage Site. Renowned for its stunning architecture, Bath offers something memorable at every turn.
Highlights include the magnificent Bath Abbey, the elegant Circus designed by John Wood, and the famous Pump Room. The city is also home to several excellent museums, including the world’s largest costume museum.
A guided coach tour of the city is included during our visit.
Day 3: This morning we pay a visit to Glastonbury, the birthplace of English Christianity and the supposed burial place of King Arthur. We then head to medieval Wells, England’s smallest city, which sits peacefully surrounded by thousands of years of history and legend. The magnificent Wells Cathedral is the focal point, along with the unique moated Bishop’s Palace, from which the finely preserved medieval centre wanders away into attractive lanes with many wonderful independent shops.
Day 4: Today is a day at leisure to relax in Weston-super-Mare. Nestled on the Somerset coast, the town boasts a two-mile stretch of sandy beach, with a level seafront promenade just a short stroll from the hotel.
You’ll find a magnificent Grand Pier and plenty of classic seaside attractions — it’s easy to see why visitors return year after year.
Nature lovers will appreciate the town’s parks and gardens, while those seeking culture can explore local museums and galleries, with Weston Museum being a particular highlight.
Day 5: We depart for the return to Norfolk, making suitable stops enroute. Upon arrival in Norfolk you will be dropped at your chosen local joining points.
