Day 1: We depart from our convenient local joining points and travel south to the popular seaside resort of Paignton. Comfort stops will be made along the way before arriving at the Palace Hotel, our home for the next four nights. On arrival, there will be time to settle in before enjoying dinner this evening.
Day 2: Following breakfast, we travel to Buckfast to visit the impressive 12th-century Buckfast Abbey, beautifully set on the banks of the River Dart. Home to a community of Benedictine monks, the Abbey offers a tranquil and inspiring atmosphere. There will be time to explore the Abbey church, admire its art and architecture, stroll through the peaceful gardens, or browse the gift and produce shops.
Later, we continue to the charming fishing port of Brixham. This bustling harbour town is centred around its picturesque waterfront, where yachts and traditional trawlers sit side by side. Enjoy free time to sample the excellent seafood restaurants, relax in cosy cafés, or discover historic inns while soaking up the lively maritime ambience.
Day 3: Today is at leisure in Paignton. This popular resort is easy to explore, with the seafront, pier, town centre shops and traditional tearooms all within comfortable walking distance. Whether you choose a gentle promenade stroll, time by the sea, or browsing the local shops, Paignton provides the perfect setting for a relaxed day at your own pace.
Day 4: This morning, we journey through the scenic Teign Valley to Dawlish, a charming town centred around The Lawn and the Brook, famously home to black swans. There will be time to explore and enjoy the town’s laid-back atmosphere.
We then continue to Teignmouth, a popular coastal resort renowned for its elegant Georgian architecture, attractive harbour and long sandy beaches. Later, we return to the hotel for our final evening, where dinner will be served and you can reflect on an enjoyable stay on the English Riviera.
Day 5: After breakfast, we bid farewell to Paignton and begin our return journey home. Comfort stops will be made en route, with arrival back at our local drop-off points early evening.
