Day 1: Joining from of our direct coach joining points, we head north to York, and our hotel for the next 3 nights, The Queens hotel York, on a dinner bed and breakfast basis. Upon arrival, the coach will drop you off outside of the hotel, and the rest of the weekend is yours at leisure.
Days 2 - 3: Enjoy two full days at leisure in the historic city of York — one of England’s most charming and characterful destinations. With its rich heritage, medieval streets, and welcoming atmosphere, York is perfect for exploring at your own pace.
Wander through the city’s ancient lanes and discover centuries of history around every corner. A visit to the magnificent York Minster is a must, where stunning architecture and beautiful stained glass tell stories from the past. Nearby, stroll along the famous The Shambles, a picturesque cobbled street lined with timber-framed buildings, boutique shops, and traditional sweet stores.
You may wish to walk the well-preserved city walls for panoramic views, explore the fascinating exhibits at the National Railway Museum, or relax with a river cruise along the Ouse. York also offers a wide choice of cafés, tearooms, and traditional pubs — perfect for sampling local flavours or enjoying a classic afternoon tea.
For those who enjoy shopping, the city blends independent retailers with well-known brands, while markets and craft shops offer unique souvenirs.
With two full days at leisure, you can experience York your way — from iconic landmarks to hidden corners — taking time to soak up the city’s unique character and timeless appeal.
Day 4: After breakfast, we will leave York and make the return journey back to Norfolk, making suitable stops enroute.
