Enjoy a delightful day out in Essex combining historic charm with a taste of one of Britain’s most famous preserves. Travel by comfortable coach to the historic city of Colchester, Britain’s oldest recorded town, where you’ll have free time to explore its attractive streets, browse the shops and cafés, or perhaps visit the impressive Colchester Castle.

In the afternoon we continue to the village of Tiptree to visit the charming Tiptree Jam Museum, home of the famous Wilkin & Sons Tiptree preserves. Discover the fascinating history of jam-making before finishing the day with a traditional cream tea of freshly baked scones, Tiptree jam, clotted cream and tea in the tearoom.
