Day 1: After being collected from one of our convenient local joining points, you will join our luxury tour coach and we will head to Salisbury & our hotel for the next 3 nights, the Stones Hotel on a dinner bed and breakfast basis, making suitable stops along the way. You will be welcomed with tea/coffee and biscuits upon arrival before heading to your rooms.
Day 2: This morning we enjoy a guided tour of the magnificent Salisbury Cathedral, one of the finest examples of Early English Gothic architecture. Marvel at its soaring 123-metre spire—the tallest in Britain—and step inside to admire its stunning stained glass, intricate stonework, and peaceful cloisters.
The cathedral is also home to one of the original copies of the Magna Carta, a cornerstone of British constitutional history. Your guide will bring the story of the building and its medieval past vividly to life.
Following the tour, enjoy a traditional cream tea in the Refectory Restaurant, set within the tranquil cathedral grounds. There is then time at leisure to explore Salisbury at your own pace—perhaps wander through the medieval market square, browse independent boutiques, or enjoy a relaxing stroll along the River Avon, with its picturesque water meadows and views back towards the cathedral spire.
Day 3: After breakfast, we travel first to the charming market town of Romsey for a visit to the renowned Sir Harold Hillier Gardens. Spanning over 180 acres, these world-famous gardens are home to one of the UK’s finest plant collections, featuring seasonal displays, woodland walks, themed gardens, and impressive champion trees.
We then continue to the historic city of Winchester, once the ancient capital of England and steeped in over a thousand years of history. You may wish to visit its magnificent cathedral, or enjoy a stroll along the charming high street. Winchester offers a perfect blend of history, culture, and relaxed atmosphere, making it an ideal afternoon excursion before we return to the hotel.
Day 4: Sadly this morning we begin our journey back to Norfolk making suitable stops along the way. Upon arrival in Norfolk you will be dropped at your chosen joining point.
