Kensington Museums & Knightsbridge

After dropping you outside the V&A museum, you will be able to spend the day at your leisure either checking out the various museums (V&A, Natural History and Science) in the area or shop ‘til you drop among the vast array of designer shops in Knightsbridge – don’t forget Harrods.

Drop off/collection at the London V&A museum.  (The National History Museum and Science Museum are next to the V&A)

Free entry applies to the National History Museum, Science Museum and the Victoria & Albert Museum (charges apply for special exhibitions). 

The V&A - is the greatest museum of art and design, a world treasure house with collections of fabulous scope and diversity. The Museum holds over 3000 years worth of artefacts from many of the world's richest cultures. The V&A will have various exhibitions on display including:

- Beatrix Potter: Drawn to Nature

- Faberge in London: Romance to Revolution

The Natural History Museum - First opened its doors to the public on Easter Monday in 1881, but its origins go back more than 250 years. It all started when physician and collector of natural curiosities, Sir Hans Sloane, left his extensive collection to the nation in 1753. 

The Science Museum - Be fascinated by iconic treasures, such as the world-famous Stephenson's Rocket locomotive. You can also rediscover the everyday objects of your childhood, see contemporary art in an unusual setting and learn more about the history and future of science and technology.

Epping Ongar Railway with Fish & Chip Lunch

Epping Ongar Railway is the award winning longest heritage railway in Essex and operates on the former end of the Underground Central Line, operating heritage trains between award winning old fashioned stations dating from 1865.

Start your visit at North Weald station before taking your first rail journey of the day on the steam locomotive train for a picturesque trip through part of Epping Forest – returning to North Weald. On this journey, you will be served your fish & chip lunch followed an ice cream dessert. Afterwards, take a return journey to Epping Underground station via Epping Forest on a Routemaster bus. On return to North Weald, a DMU (diesel passenger train) will be waiting for a return journey to Epping Forest and back. Itinerary subject to change and dependant on the availabilty of the trains & bus for we cannot be held liable.

On arrival back in North Weald, you will be given some free time to explore the station and the gift shop.

Waverley Paddle Steamer Cruise

After a short journey to Ipswich, you will step aboard the world’s last seagoing paddle steamer, the beautiful Waverley, for an unforgettable voyage. Departing from Ipswich docks, you’ll sail down the River Orwell and out into the open waters, before cruising south along the Suffolk and Essex coastline, calling in at Clacton-On-Sea along the way.

The journey continues into the Thames Estuary, where coastal scenery gives way to a rich tapestry of maritime history. Sailing up the River Thames is a true highlight, with ever-changing views of London’s skyline and famous landmarks unfolding before you. A particularly memorable moment comes as the Waverley passes beneath the majestic Tower Bridge—an experience that perfectly captures the romance of river travel.

On arrival in London, we will be waiting to drive you back to Norfolk, bringing a perfect end to a remarkable day on the water.

As the “Sole Survivor”, Waverley boasts a rich history and showcases a magnificent triple expansion steam engine that will leave you in awe. Experience the authentic charm of a real steamship as you hear the telegraph ring, witness the engine’s graceful motion and sense the gentle aroma of hot oil and steam. You can even watch the paddles turning through the portholes!

With almost 80 years of history, Waverley is not just a ship but a living testament to a bygone era. During your cruise, indulge in a hot or cold snack, afternoon tea and cake, a hearty meal in the Dining Saloon, or relax in one of the comfortable lounges.

Paddle steamer Waverley is registered on The National Historic Fleet as being a vessel of pre-eminent national significance. She has operated in preservation since 1975 and become a “national treasure” carrying over 6 million passengers.

Join us for a truly special occasion as the iconic GWR Class 6024 King Edward I makes its first-ever visit to the Nene Valley Railway.

Built in 1930, King Edward I was one of the prestigious Great Western Railway 6000 Class express locomotives, hauling some of Britain's most important passenger services until its retirement in 1962. Following preservation and an extensive overhaul, this magnificent locomotive has returned to steam and is once again ready to showcase the power and elegance of Great Western Railway engineering.

Thanks to the Royal Scot Locomotive & General Trust, visitors will have the rare opportunity to travel behind this legendary locomotive as it hauls heritage passenger services throughout the weekend.

Your Cream Tea Train Experience

Sit back and relax as you enjoy a return journey through the picturesque Nene Valley countryside aboard heritage Mk1 coaches, hauled by the magnificent King Edward I.

During your journey, you'll be treated to a delicious Cream Tea Box featuring:
